A Window Into My World
It’s full of stories - written and visual - ones that we all have and need to share. Because while we may all be fierce and unique, we also seek the quiet joy of similarity that ties us together.

For years I wrote stories and took photos as a way to channel my creativity. In 2019 I had the unexpected opportunity to join a graduate program that combined my technical skills with that need for creativity and to elevate my storytelling. After a lot of great work and pouring everything into my final Capstone project on Holocaust Rescuers, I graduated in December 2021.

Stories
Some call them blogs, but I call them what they are: stories. We all have stories and sometimes I hunker down to write them out in more than 140 characters because it's too easy to lose the skill of well written thoughts and experiences. Plus my parents were both school teachers so they appreciate this!
While many of the stories center of cycling, there are also tales from my work on oil spills and hurricanes, and reminisces of travel that we all need in a post-lockdown world.

Words matter, but visual imagery paints emotion in time.

Maps
I've loved maps since I was a young kid pouring over atlases, maybe it was a sign of a lifetime of travel and adventure ahead. Eventually I went to graduate school and began a career relaying scientific information with maps, but these days I don't make them as much as I used to so I get my creative kicks designing cartographic cycling maps.
