Videos

In addition to capturing the beauty and emotions of an area with a camera, I've been using video to mix imagery, narration, and music for more multi-dimensional storytelling.

The videos below have been for my own use, for friends, and while an “ambassador” at Hotel Il Perlo in Lake Como, Italy. Be sure to also see the videos that I developed while working on my MFA at Duquesne University.

Righteous: Holocaust Rescuers MFA Project Trailer

I may be passionate about bikes and the community that surrounds them, but to bring together a story of remembrance means so much more. This trailer on Holocaust Rescuers for my MFA Capstone project still makes me emotional. We just need Netflix to make a series eight hours long.

Bikes in the Community

Why the MtLCCC Rides for Bike MS

Every summer for the past 21 years, the Mt. Lebanon Cycling and Caffeine Club has ridden in the Bike MS event to raise money for the National MS Society. A few of the members wanted to express thanks to their donors and take them along for this year’s ride in State College, PA.

Let’s Ride Bikes! Kids Edition

This video was made for local school teachers who are introducing young kids to different types of fun outdoor activities. They asked if I could make a video about bikes, which I was delighted to do. However, even the adults aren’t riding bikes outside in February, so I put together archival material including some clips from friends and family. Test audiences have said they would “share with their friends.” :)

Bikes for Physical and Mental Health

E-Bikes: The Fountain of Youth for Aging Athletes

Over the past five years, I’ve seen first-hand how e-bikes can change lives. In this video, for a Duquesne University Video Production class, I interviewed two cycling club members about their transition to riding e-bikes and how it has improved their lives and mental health.

MtlCCC: Riding Through the Pandemic

There is not one person around the world who has not been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While we often use cycling to escape the world around us and to bond with friends, social distancing and isolating has prevented riding together. For a Video Production class at Duquesne, I interviewed two cycling club members to learn how their riding and mental health has been effected.

Photo Highlights of the 2019 Dirty Dozen Women’s Race Up Canton Avenue

For a class at Duquesne University we were asked to put a series of photos together to tell a story as a short video. I chose the 2019 Dirty Dozen photos to tell a story about the women’s race on Canton Avenue.

MtlCCC: We have a rule, the ride leaves on time

Our cycling club in Pittsburgh is known for riding every weekend year round….and they always start at 7 a.m. Here’s why.

Lake Como, Italy
(I know I know)

ComoLagoBike: The Moment

Peter from Seattle, USA, narrates a special experience while staying at Hotel Il Perlo on Lake Como, Italy, and riding with ComoLagoBike's Cycling Manager, Alberto Elli.

ComoLagoBike & Hotel Il Perlo 2018 Memories

There were so many great memories with our ComoLagoBike and Hotel Il Perlo guests who joined us on Lake Como in 2018. Thank you all and we look forward to many more in 2019!

Lakeside Hills Tour with ComoLagoBike

Can't get enough of lake views? A beautiful guided cycling tour along the rolling lakeside road of Lake Como past picturesque villages, lavish villas, and stunning views of the lake. The tour begins at Hotel Il Perlo in Bellagio and travels down to Como, then back up the other side to Cadenabbia and the ferry back to Bellagio.

Lake Como Cycling Postcard Memories

We all capture memories in our mind, the original camera. This video is of the common snapshots I have in my memory of Lake Como.

Super Ghisallo Descent

Slowly riding up the famous Ghisallo climb from Bellagio, cyclists can find this longer, alternative route half way up that instead goes through a quiet valley and past small mountain villages. It's even more fun to descend.

Hotel Il Perlo Panorama Emozioni A Novembre

I spent 10 days in November absorbing the dramatic beauty of Lake Como in the fall. The weather changed every few hours from rain, to wind, and sun, and it was a wonderful time to just sit still and watch it unfold.

ComoLagoBike Mercoledi MTB and E-MTB

Winter is the off-season for ComoLagoBike and its guides, but that doesn't mean they stop riding or having fun together. One Wednesday night after work we rode the mountain bikes and E-MTBs to a mountain rifugio to put our night riding agility through its paces.
