The 2019 Giro d'Italia on the Gavia and Mortirolo

Stage 16 the Queen Stage

The Giro d'Italia big reveal this week has the racers visiting Lake Como on Stage 15 and tackling the Ghisallo, Sormano, and Civiglio before finishing in Como. After their last rest day the following day, on Tuesday, May 28, they face a Queen Stage on the Passo Gavia and Passo del Mortirolo, just two hours north of Lake Como in what will be a stunning day of racing and spectating on Stage 16 - join us and Alberto Elli for the event!

Il Percorso

Beginning in Lovere at the northern end of our neighbor to the east, Lake Iseo, the peloton will face 5,700 meters of climbing and 226 kilometers, a true challenge of never ending climbing and technical descents. As they begin their last week and after a rest day, their legs will surely be struggling to find strength and we will be there to cheer them onward and upward.

But first, what do the climbs feel like? You will find out yourself as we take you to these icons of the Alps. Our Cycling Manager, Alberto Elli, who raced the Giro seven times - including a stage win - will lead you into these mountains with the skill and confidence that will bring all our guests an unparalled experience.

Join us on the Queen Stage

If you have ever wanted to ride these classic Italian Alp climbs, this is an opportunity to join us for the best guided experience on Lake Como and beyond. Whether on the Queen Stage or the Il Lombardia stage or both, we look forward to taking you to the 2019 Giro d’Italia to watch the Maglia Rosa and ride the same roads with Alberto Elli. He will take you not only on tours of his home roads of Lake Como, but inside the Giro d’Italia itself, which he raced seven times in his career, including the infamous day on the Gavia in 1988.

Interested in joining? We are finalizing the details for these stages, so be sure to contact Enrica to get your name down for what will surely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see the Giro!
